We (Me) and Our (My) Beloved Son !!!

I am back here after a long time to wish my son a Very Happy First Birthday !!! Here is the story of my One year old son...

Born on Mar 14 a year ago in one of the finest hospitals in Chennai to a most beautiful Woman... Let me first describe(revisit) the moment of his birth... Its an all day pain for my wife and so much tension for all involved... Waited till evening for a normal delivery but not so destined... My Son loved his Mom so much that he did not want to come out... So Doctors had to pull him out... With God's blessing, He saw the outside world at 07:29 PM... A nurse brought him out to show him his Grand Parent's and his friend from birth (its me...)... That was a best Moment of my Life... I don't want to spoil that memorable moment by putting it in my words... We are blessed with a baby boy !!!

He is loved by many and love for him grows by multi-fold with each passing day... He was made to stay in Hospital for a week as his Mother wasn't fully recovered... By the time she got better, He was brought home... As all kids do, He gave his Mother a few sleepless nights... But not many i suppose... I know my Wife wouldn't complain on that... That was just a beginning... We named him after our beloved God and his birth star... He chose his name as he was born in a star on which we could name him...

We could sense his growth everyday... We felt he does something new every-time we saw him... A lot of shopping.. Dresses, toys, books, posters... Everything to impress him... But he just gets impressed with a true smile... He knows whom to go and whom not to go... A kid can sense true love more than anyone else...

He identifies People with a smile... If he knows someone well enough, his first reaction will be to smile at them... A lesson learnt from him... Its understood when kids smile at someone, they recognize them... Because he did not have a language then... He knows only two languages... A language of smile and A language of tears.. Its quite simple but that is all we do during our entire life... We either feel happy or frown for something... If he wants something, he would cry out loud... Since we don't want him to cry often, We learnt his language faster....

To be honest, I wasn't able to spend so much time with him except for the weekends... He wakes up few mins before i go to office and sleeps few mins after i come home... or Should i say i go to office so early and come so late rather than putting the blame on him... But that is the life of a software engineer and i am no exception... There are few who are worse than me... So all his days were lived with my Wife... So she has to get all credits for him being healthy and fine... God bless !!!

I remember the very first thing he did was to turn to other side and pop his head out...  He struggled initially but he did it... That moment was one to note for... His accomplishment of anything is only complete when he smiles... That smile says he has done it... :)

Next thing is his walk on four legs... I am not sure if that s the right way of saying it in English.... but that is what he did... He started moving with his hands and legs... That was so cute... More Poetic... Those are the credits to God's creativity... That little thing can make anyone forget what their worries are... More kiddish we are, More People we make happy... He was admired...

Then came the function of tonsuring his head... That s our custom... As he had more hair, We planned to celebrate it during his 7th Month... With all our family, We went to our family temple and tonsured his head, offered our Prayers and came back... God's will, everything went well...

He was more cute after offering his hair to his God... May be a sense of satisfaction... May be he thanked God on his first temple visit for landing him safely on Earth...

He was more used to things and places now... He used to casually go around the house... Play around with anything that he gets... For all his naughtiness, He fell from cot on one evening... Rushed to Doctor... Thank God, Nothing serious... He was back to his play but his Mom was so worried... We even sold our cot when we moved to our new house as we thought he would be more playful as he grows up... May be God chose him to bring us down to Earth :)

I think he thought to explore the world... So he brought me an onsite opportunity and we traveled to Canada as he was 10 Months old... As most of you know, this place is very cold... but only for me and my wife.. Not for him... He never felt cold... Right from day one, He doesn't like wearing jerkin, sweater, socks or any other winter wear... just normal trousers and T-shirt... Not even trousers when at home... Just diapers and T-shirt & he goes around playing... Cute... Isn't he????????

I remember the day when he first sat on a Car seat in our Cousin's car and made a huge cry of it... :-)

On Midst of all this, he started walking... This time normal walk with two legs... I think People learn their lessons at right time... On a fine morning, He got up and walked on his own... We never taught him this... These are very little things that makes us feel God s somewhere near and he is helping us grow... He met his relatives only through Skype video calls... More than he missed People, People in India missed him... Especially Grand Parent's... Well not surprising... Who wouldn't miss such a lovely kid????

He doesn't want toys to be bought... Its fine if we get him... If not he will make his own... A TV remote.. Smartphone... Vessels... Anything s a toy for him... He treats everything equally... Pick up and throw... Another lesson learnt... :)

Another credit to his naughtiness and lesson for us to be more careful... He cut his finger with a piece of glass on one morning... It was all havoc for the rest half day... Emergency... A small stitch in his tiny finger... His Mom started crying... Now I have to handle two kids... Again God's blessing.. Nothing serious... A hard slap on our face for not taking care of him properly...

Now the sweetest thing... Again something that we never taught him... Kiss... He suddenly started giving kisses to us... I don't think there was any sweeter kiss I would have got... When I was a kid, I might have got a few kisses... but a kid's kiss with love and affection, Nothing like it... That was one awesome moment... A kiss n d morning keeps my day going...

Being in Onsite, I was able to spend more time with him and i always feel we are getting closer with each passing day... Every-time he comes and requests me to pick him, he requests in such a way that i cannot deny him... He taught me Patience... I was the one who used to get more angry for little things... Ask my wife, she would list you all those bloody moments... But not now... This guy has changed me a lot with just his love... We live for him... He taught me love... His gentle smile taught me what is happiness... Every-time he sleeps on my shoulders i feel more satisfied and more serene... He keeps my stress away... Our Life is nothing without him... A kid at right time... God's gift comes with a responsibility... And i am still learning to be responsible... Hope I finish my learning soon... Love you my sweet son !!! Bless you my little Prince !!!

This post would be incomplete if I don't write few words about my life(Wife)... She has to take all credits for what my son is today... She has lost sleep on so many nights to make sure he sleeps properly and safely... She gives him the energy... She knows when he will be hungry and feeds him.... There are reasons why God made Woman to carry child... Its because they are selfless... Its because they are divine... Its because they are more close to God than Men are... And She can do all that I do... But I can't do all that she does...

My Wholehearted Thanks to my better half for making my son so admirable...

Am just wishing him a Very Happy First Birthday but My Wife created the whole first year... You both are the precious gifts of God... I Pray for the wellness of you both on this auspicious occasion...

This blog is still incomplete.... My Son grows and so is the story... God bless and guide him...
